*Announcement of the MSFA 2021 VIRTUAL Convention and Conference*
On Tuesday of this past week, the MSFA Convention Steering Committee met via zoom to discuss the 2021 Convention and Conference. After exploring several current elements of the COVID-19 Pandemic, and the uncertainties of what indoor public gatherings will be like in June, it was the recommendation of the steering committee to move forward with the VIRTUAL events and not hold an in-person experience.
President Walker then called for a special Executive Committee Meeting via zoom and after some discussion, the executive committee voted unanimously to accept the steering committee’s recommendation and move forward with planning VIRTUAL events for this year.
I know this is not what any of us wanted to hear, but the realty is that it is what is best for the MSFA, LAMSFA and our membership. We will be scheduling some calls and virtual meetings to carry things forward and I hope and pray that we never have to make these types of decisions ever again.
Thanks for all you do and Be Safe.
