With summer in full swing, we’re launching a new text alert system for permitted firework displays in Howard County. All permitted displays are approved through the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal, and Howard County Fire Marshals are present the day-of to ensure the safety of the event.

Fifth District VFD is excited to share that we have been selected to benefit from Giant Food’s Community Bag Program, which makes it easy for customers to contribute to their local communities. For the month of April, 2023, whenever a $2.50 reusable Community Bag is purchased at the River Hill Giant Food located at 6050 Daybreak Circle, Clarksville, $1 will be donated to FDVFD. Please share the news with friends and family.
After 30 years of service, Tanker 5 continues to operate as a critical part of our fleet. Today, our volunteers spent the afternoon with the tanker filling cisterns and flushing dry hydrants.

The Fifth District Volunteer Fire Department is proud to participate in the Annual River Hill Independence Day Parade. Every year we empty the station and bring all of our equipment and join in on the celebration. The route is 2.2 miles along Great Star drive, starting at the Guilford Road intersection.

Annual Independence Day ParadeRiver Hill’s 22nd Annual Independence Day Parade will take place on Monday, July 4th, beginning at 9:00 a.m. The parade follows the length of Great Star Drive starting ...Hi folks. A fabulous turn out and the vehicles looked awesome. I was there to see you all pass by and made my grandsons day when one of the crew gave him a wave. I took a few images of the event featuring the vehicles, as soon as they are done will send them over, Well done to all. It was our 1st 4th July parade (from the UK) and we loved it, hoping to get back for next years. 🙂
