With summer in full swing, we’re launching a new text alert system for permitted firework displays in Howard County. All permitted displays are approved through the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal, and Howard County Fire Marshals are present the day-of to ensure the safety of the event.

The Fifth District Volunteer Fire Department is proud to participate in the Annual River Hill Independence Day Parade. Every year we empty the station and bring all of our equipment and join in on the celebration. The route is 2.2 miles along Great Star drive, starting at the Guilford Road intersection.

Annual Independence Day ParadeRiver Hill’s 22nd Annual Independence Day Parade will take place on Monday, July 4th, beginning at 9:00 a.m. The parade follows the length of Great Star Drive starting ...Hi folks. A fabulous turn out and the vehicles looked awesome. I was there to see you all pass by and made my grandsons day when one of the crew gave him a wave. I took a few images of the event featuring the vehicles, as soon as they are done will send them over, Well done to all. It was our 1st 4th July parade (from the UK) and we loved it, hoping to get back for next years. 🙂
